Kids Alive

Every week kids from Year 3 to Year 6 get together for crazy games, craft, science experiments, cooking, singing and dancing and learning about Jesus from the Bible. We also have yummy food! Kids Alive runs every Tuesday afternoon of the school term from 4:00pm-5:30pm. It’s $3/child or $10/family (3 or more children) as a contribution towards the time.

If you’re new, a leader with a Kids Alive badge will help you fill out an info form and to answer questions you may have. You are welcome to stick around if you’d like to get a feel of what’s going on, or just come back at 5:30pm to try and pull your kids away!

What is Kids Alive?

Kids Alive is a kids club hosted by MUBC and has been going for over 20 years. Each Tuesday arvo kids can come to hang out, play some games, eat some afternoon tea, hear what the Bible has to say and spend some time discussing it together.

Who runs Kids Alive?

Kids Alive is currently led by a number of different leaders, including the Children and Families Coordinator, Michelle Hughes. Jenny Webb also helps run it, and has been involved in the kids work at MUBC for over twenty years.

What are the leaders like?

Along with Jenny and Michelle, Kids Alive is run by a team of trained volunteers who attend MUBC and all have a Working With Children’s Check. They are always updated on safe practices for working with kids.

My child has food allergies, what does that mean for afternoon tea?

Kids Alive provides afternoon tea as part of the program. All food at Kids Alive is nut-free and can also cater for Gluten-free, Dairy-free, Egg-free and Vegetarian diets. If your child has further restrictions on diet we ask that you provide your own food.

I would like to bring my child to Kids Alive, what do I need to know?

If it is your child’s first time at Kids Alive, we will require you to fill out a registration form, which includes basic contact details for emergencies. Other things to be aware of:

  • We ask that as you drop children off, that you would park your car, and walk them across the carpark to the Rego Desk, where children can then sign themselves in.
  • At the end of the time, we require the adult picking them up to sign the child out, so please collect your children and line up at the sign out desk. We will also give you any info for upcoming events at the sign out desk too.

I’ve got more questions…

That’s great! If you would like any more information, or would like to contact Michelle at [email protected].
