Parkes Mission 2012 // Day 2

Had a clear but cool morning for our second day of Adventure Zone. Numbers have increased to 60, not that numbers matter. We love hearing the children looking forward to the next day because they have enjoyed their time with us. It is so exciting when they start to ask questions it means two things; they themselves want to learn and that the Holy Spirit is right there with them.
Looking forward to another great day tomorrow.

Headed out to the Dish in the afternoon.

Keep praying for us!

Parkes Mission 2012 // Day 1

Great first day in Parkes. Weather started grim but turnout of 57 eager kids. Showed God is in control. Our Olympic theme has started with many bright colours with the children making banners for their team colours.
Our verse today which is based on running with Jesus in the race of life, was introduced through games and song.

Let’s throw of sin the tangles us… Let’s run with perseverance… Let’s fix our eyes on Jesus!”
- Hebrews 12:1

Pastor Doug Knight Inducted as Senior Pastor of MUBC

What a Sunday we had today as we welcomed our new Senior Pastor, Doug Knight, his wife Suanne and their three children to our church. The service saw our building packed to the rafters with expectation, happy faces, lots of kids and important members of our community. All three levels of Government brought commendations and well wishes; the Mayor, Paul Green, State member, Shelley Hancock and Federal member, Joanna Gash. Pastor Doug, who had previously been the Chaplain in the two local high schools, also had friends and previous colleagues travel from all over the state to share in the special day.
In his first sermon as Pastor, Doug challenged the church to put into action the call of Jesus to his disciples – “Take up your cross and follow me”. Following a fantastic service we enjoyed a great lunch with a lot of excited chatting and fellowship. Perhaps the happiest face of all was that of Pastor Bill, who having retired from the Pastorate will now enjoy a long, well earned holiday with his beautiful wife Carol. Great times ahead for MUBC. Soli Deo Gloria! Glory to God alone.

Introduction to Alpha

Alpha Course

Over 15 million people worldwide have now attended an Alpha course, an opportunity to explore the meaning of life, running in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations around the world.

The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith. It’s relaxed, low key, friendly and fun. There is a meal together at the beginning of each session which gives you an opportunity to get to know each other. Listen, learn, discuss and discover, and ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile. And it’s supported by all the main Christian denominations.

“Introduction to Alpha”

at Milton Ulladulla Baptist Church

(Cnr Matron Porter Dr & Leo Dr, Narrawallee)
