Parkes Mission 2013 // Day 1

Great first day in Parkes with a record 94 kids. Our ‘Whose Kitchen Rules’ cooking program began with enormous enthusiasm as we spoke with the children about the ‘recipe’ for the christian life.

Salvation is found only in Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”
– Acts 4:12

Commissioning of new Church Elders

MUBC today celebrated the election of our three new Church Elders: Bill Taplin, Mark Fackerell and Bruce Stark. Pastors Doug and Justin commissioned the new Elders, praying for them before the Church body. We wish them every blessing in their continued ministry amongst us.

Parkes Mission 2012 // Day 4

Great weather for another great day. Numbers were up again, had great fun playing games with the kids as we explored the tools available to us as we run with Jesus in the race of life: the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, Talking to the coach (prayer), Reading the instruction manual (The Bible), and team training (Christian Fellowship).

Enjoyed a relaxed afternoon in town. Greatly looking forward to our BBQ celebration dinner tomorrow night.

Parkes Mission 2012 // Day 3

Enjoyed some beautiful sunshine on Day three, boosting our numbers up to 60+ kids. The program is truly in full swing now, and we’ve had some enormously encouraging conversations with the kids; today emphasising the importance of ‘throwing off sin that tangles us’, as we run with Jesus in the race of life. Looking forward to a great end to the week.

The team headed out to a farm in the afternoon, enjoying a large bonfire and the State of Origin for some.

Please continue to uphold us in your prayers.

Parkes Mission 2012 // Day 2

Had a clear but cool morning for our second day of Adventure Zone. Numbers have increased to 60, not that numbers matter. We love hearing the children looking forward to the next day because they have enjoyed their time with us. It is so exciting when they start to ask questions it means two things; they themselves want to learn and that the Holy Spirit is right there with them.
Looking forward to another great day tomorrow.

Headed out to the Dish in the afternoon.

Keep praying for us!

Parkes Mission 2012 // Day 1

Great first day in Parkes. Weather started grim but turnout of 57 eager kids. Showed God is in control. Our Olympic theme has started with many bright colours with the children making banners for their team colours.
Our verse today which is based on running with Jesus in the race of life, was introduced through games and song.

Let’s throw of sin the tangles us… Let’s run with perseverance… Let’s fix our eyes on Jesus!”
– Hebrews 12:1
